Summer is just around the corner. Unless you are in Texas, like me, then it’s already hitting temps in the 100’s. I always have the hardest time narrowing down my Most Anticipated for the upcoming season but I managed to get this list down to 22! These 22 reads are all set to come this June, July, and August. While not all are perfect summer reads (think fast paced or light & airy), they all are books I will not be able to live without.
Since my favorite genres are: Mystery, Fantasy, and Historical Fiction, you’ll tend to see a heavy selection of those on my lists. However, I’m a lover of all genres so I have included a few contemporary and romances. No non-fiction make my list this time but there is a collection of short stories on here.
There are quite a few books on here from some of my favorite authors such as: Karin Slaughter, Taylor Jenkins Reid, Katherine Center, Jennifer Hiller, and Blake Crouch. A few of these are debuts (which I note in their synopsis), and a few of these just sound pretty amazing.
Books you may be surprised to not see on this list include Riley Sager’s newest release The House Across the Lake. I’ve been disappointed with Sager’s books of late and while I’ll probably read it (since I have an ARC) it’s not super high on my TBR. Therese Anne Fowler and Ava Reid, both also have books coming out that I’ll probably pick up, but their previous books we’re just ‘Okay’ which knocked them off this list as well.
I have read a few of these already and will be updating this list with links to reviews soon, so be sure to check back.
