Every single book this month is from a previous Book of the Month (BOTM) author. I am shocked to see so many repeat, 3peat, 4peat authors. While Adrienne Brodeur’s book Little Monsters is her first fiction book with BOTM, her Wild Game was an previous BOTM pick. While I don’t dislike this month’s picks, I’m disappointed not to see a single debut offering.
Of this month’s picks I’ve read four of them so far and have ARCs of three additional ones. I’ve linked my reviews below to help you narrow down your box, but I will be skipping this month.

I skipped this month. Not because I didn’t like the choices, but because I have copies of all by one of this month’s picks and add-ons. Of the picks and add-ons this month, the only book I don’t have a copy of is Riley Sager’s newest release The Only One Left. I have personally felt that Sager’s books have gone down in quality, but I have heard this one is better than the last two. Regardless, I’ll pick this up from the library if I feel like reading it in the future.
I have copies of all of our main five picks, plus a copy of Love, Theoretically and Little Monsters already. Of the seven choices this month, I’ve read over half of the picks and all of them ended up being four star reads for me. I have copies of The First Ladies, Immortal Longings, and Little Monsters. Fun fact, I’m currently making my way through Chloe Gong’s series and am reading book 2 in Foul Lady Fortune series, Foul Heart Huntsman which comes out in September. I love Gong’s writing but Immortal Longings is set to be the first book in the Flesh and False Gods series and I hate none matching series books. I have a BOTM copy of Gong’s book These Violent Delights, but if I want hardcopies of the rest of her books I’ll wait til a nice set comes out.
I was also already planning to read Little Monsters next week, so check back soon to see my review.
Of the ones I’ve read, none of them will make my top 10 list, but if I could only recommend one it would be Dark Corners followed by Love, Theoretically. Both The Connellys of County Down and Hello Stranger were enjoyable reads, I just like the authors books from last year better.
