Listed here are the policies used by ‘Speaking Of’ in regards to this site as a review blog, and what you will see here and on my associated social media accounts. Below I have included guidelines for my reviews and review inquiries. Speaking Of will refer to the site owner: Allison (Allie) Speakmon.

 

Books and Reviews

The books reviewed on ‘Speaking Of’  have been purchased by myself prior to the review, unless otherwise specifically stated in the post. Other copies come by way of authors, publishers or PR firms for the purpose of reading and providing a review. This will always be stated in the review post. All thoughts and opinions on the book are my own, regardless of complimentary review copies. Speaking Of retains the right to not read or post a review of any book(s) at my own discretion.

Request a Review

To review a book please send me an email at allie@speakingof.org with your request.

When you submit a request, you must be prepared to send a copy of the book for review (print or digital). I won’t be responding to requests that direct me to purchase the book. Please let me know in the request the Book Title, Author, Publisher, Publication Date, a short synopsis and any links to site where I can obtain more information.

I reserve the right to decline a request at my own discretion. This depends on my schedule and interests.

• Adult Fiction: Fantasy, Mystery/Thriller, Sci-Fi, Contemporary, Womens Lit, Historical, Horror,
• Non-fiction: True Crime, Historical
• Travel

Genre’s I Decline:

• Non-fiction general
• Romance
• Erotica
• Memoirs, Biographies
• Poetry
• Cookbooks
• Picture books /Art Books

Print copies are preferred- they are easiest to photograph, promote and giveaway which assists with promoting the book. E-books/arcs are accepted via Netgalley or the appropriate format for Kindle.

Books will be reviewed and shared on my blog, social medias, Goodreads, Amazon and Barnes & Noble.  In the rare event that I did not have a good review I will contact you and you can advise if you would prefer I hold review or continue.

 

Advertising/Affiliations

Speaking Of… is a Book of the Month Affiliate. This program earns a flat rate for new subscribers who click through the ads or links. New subscribers earn a free or discounted book upon sign up, depending on current promotion.
