August 2022 Most Anticipated

Okay August, I see you with all your new releases! I’m so behind on reading my August ARCs. I started reading the Sarah J Maas Throne of Glass series and I’m pretty much exclusively binge reading those at the moment. So while I have quite a few copies of the books mentioned below, I have only read 2 August releases so far but hope to have some addition ones read and reviewed before their release date in August.

Carrie Soto is Back is Taylor Jenkin Reid’s newest release and probably my top Anticipated Release for August, and it was amazing! It’s probably tied with Evelyn Hugo as my favorite from TJR at the moment. Check out my review below:

Carrie Soto is Back REVIEW

You’re Invited is your standard Thriller and was a Book of the Month pick for July. This is one where I didn’t particular like any of the characters but felt the story was compelling.

Amazon First Reads

This is the first time I’ve featured the picks from Amazon’s First Reads program but I had a really hard time picking my 2 books this month and feel like not a ton of folks know about this program. If you don’t know Amazon First Reads is a program that offers customers early access to new books across popular genres. Most months Prime members can choose one free book a month from the selection, but for July you can choose 2 books!

I figured if you have a Prime membership, you don’t want to miss out on a free book. This month’s picks all sound fantastic but I ended up picking Embers on the Wind and The Last Lie I Told. I love my detective series novels and have been looking for a good one to jump into when I need a palette cleanser. This the first book in the new Finley O’Sullivan series and book is looking to be on kindleUnlimited, Embers on the Wind is a historical fiction that focuses on the Underground Railroad and is a story about motherhood and healing.
