With 2023 coming to an end, I’ve taken a look back at my reading for the year and wanted a place to share all my 2023 Aardvark reviews in one place. This is an overview list, that simply lists all the Aardvark picks I’ve read from this year. I’ve broken this list down two ways: the first is an image of each book that links to more information about the book and the second are links to my full reviews. There were about 60 main picks in 2023 (if I mathed correctly) and I read 10 and have three in progress that I have been reading off and on. I’ll note those below as well. It’s nowhere near the halfway mark but I’m such a mood reader that I jump around quite a bit. Additionally, I’ve separated Aardvark books that are from 2022 from books released this year so you can see what came out this year and what was featured last year.
I find that Aardvark books are very hit or miss for me. So while I haven’t loved all of the ones I’ve read, I have found a few favorites. Starter Villain was hands down my favorite of this year’s picks, followed by Black Sheep and Business or Pleasure. Death Valley and as much as I hate to say it, Mona Awad’s Rouge were my list favorites.
Books are listed loosely in the chronological order of when they were offered and if you’re looking for more information around how I liked the book, you’ll need to click through to the full reviews. Looking for something not Aardvark, see below for some of my most recent lists.

The Guest – Big Swiss – The Socialites Guide to Murder
The Guest: I adore Emma Cline, but I have a hard time with unlikable narrators. I’m about 30% into reading this one and hope to finish in 2024.
Big Swiss- I was listening to this on audio during the summer, and honestly I can’t remember why I stopped listening. I think I just got distracted and probably started on another ARC and forgot to come back to it.
The Socialites Guide to Murder – this is my current easy listen to. I usually listen to parts of it between other books as it’s more a cozy read and not as intense. It doesn’t hold my attention long enough for running while listening, but I’m still enjoying it.
I hope you found something good to read off of this list. If you’re looking at a specific title want more details, please feel free to comment below or reach out to me on Instagram (@speakingof.books) or Tiktok (@speakingof.books).
That’s a lot of books!
