The supervillain business just got a new overlord…or at least Charlie’s long-lost uncle Jake just left him his entire estate which happens to potentially include his reputation as a villain. With Jake out of the picture, his enemies are now Charlie’s enemies and they’re coming to claim what’s theirs. Good thing Charlie has a hyperintelligent talking spy cats, a private island, and a pod of unionized dolphins to help him out.
Start Villain is ridiculous in allllll of the best ways. I completely adored this quirky comedy and wildly creative approach to the traditional villains. While Charlie is in so over his head, he’s smart enough to know he has no idea what’s going on and I rooted for him the entire time. As a certified dog person, who happens to be highly allergic to cats, this book has me dying to take home a smart cat.
If you’re looking for a quick and fun read this is 100% a good choice. I listened to this on audio, and I found myself looking for more things to clean around my house just so I could keep listening. All the stars!
