August books are up and I think we have some great options. In the vein of last month, we’re seeing a handful of Science Fiction/Fantasy reads, but we also are seeing a traditional page turning thriller and a new romance. If you are still looking for something to read be sure to check out some of my Most Anticipated New Releases lists. If youāre looking for add-ons to put into your boxes, be sure to check out other reviews from previous Aardvark picks.

My Picks
I’m actually skipping this month but that’s because I have copies of all of our picks this month. I’ve read both Bury Your Gays and Look in the Mirror and both would be great picks to add to your box this month. If you’re looking for a campy and yes gory horror read, than Chuck Tingles new book is perfect for you. Compared to I was a Teenage Slasher, I enjoyed Bury Your Gays so much more. But it has a more traditional story telling mode and is actually an excellent audio listen. Teenage Slasher lost steam for me halfway through and so if you’re on the fence between the two, my vote is Bury Your Gays.
BURY YOUR GAYS REVIEW | I WAS A TEENAGE SLASHER REVIEW
If you need a beach thriller to finish up your summer vacation, then Look in the Mirror would be a great pick. It wasn’t a five-star read to me, because I have issues with the ending, but it’s still a bingeable thriller.
LOOK IN THE MIRROR REVIEW
Next up on my list to read is The Bright Sword and Catalina which I’ve heard both are really good, but cannot confirm. Regardless of what you pick this month though, I think you’ll grab a winner.
