I seriously need authors to start writing slower or for the publishing companies to not publish a single thing for the next 796 months. My ‘to be read’ list is jam packed, and with so many books in August coming out, I am just never going to catch up. If I only get to read 10 books coming out in August, these are my top 10 picks! I’ve been lucky to read a few of these already, but if anyone knows how I can get Karin Slaughter’s newest book After That Night PLEASE let me know.
The Connelly’s of County Down – is Tracey Lange’s second release following her book We Are the Brennans. While I loved the Brennans, her sophomore release was not as gripping for me.

None of This is True is Lisa Jewell’s newest release and by far my favorite from her lately.

I read both The Inheritance Games and The Witches of Thistle Grove (WTG) series earlier this year and I can’t wait to continue on with the series.

It’s Not A Cult was high on my most anticipated list and while I generally enjoyed the story, I thought it could have been better.

Debut Shark Heart was not something originally on my watchlist but I read it and it should 100% be on everyone’s TBR! It was unexpected and weird, but I loved it.

Alice Feeny, Emma Donoghue, and Claire North are all auto buy authors for me. I’m still attempting to get a copy of Learned by Heart, but I plan to read North’s and Feeny’s upcoming releases on our family beach trip. Come back soon for my reviews.
Lastly, After that Night, the latest installment in Karin Slaughter’s Will Trent series is my #1 most anticipated. The past few years I’ve received advanced copies of Slaughter’s books and I’m still holding out hope to get a copy of her newest release. If you haven’t read this series and love a good murder mystery/detective series, pick these up immediately. It’s one of my all-time favorites.
Amazon First REads
A few of my Most Anticipated for August are actually apart of Amazon’s First Read choices! Amazon First Reads is a program that offers customers early access to new books across popular genres. If you have Amazon Prime, then you automatically get 1 free book a month, even if you are not a Kindle Unlimited member. Some month’s, you get to pick 2 picks, and July just so happened to be that month. I ended up picking There’s No Coming Back from This and The Hanging City as my July picks. Rebecca Yarros, author Fourth Wing, also has a romance as a pick this month but I’ll wait til that pops up on Kindle Unlimited to grab.
