November 2026 Aardvark Predictions

November is a little bit of a weird month for new releases. Like most years, the release calendar is very front-heavy before the holidays, but there are still plenty of books coming out that feel very Aardvark. And after looking through November releases, I think we could be in for a particularly good month for horror, speculative fiction, literary fiction, and some genre-bending picks.

As always, these are predictions not spoilers or confirmed picks. I’m looking at upcoming releases, publishers, genres, and mostly just asking myself: does this feel like an Aardvark book? Sometimes I’m right. Sometimes Aardvark reminds me that I actually know nothing. 😂

I should have a confirmed spoiler so, if you’re interested in finding out what it is, DM me then on Instagram @speakingof.books.

Whether or not these are actually picks, only time will tell. Even if they are not, all or most of these are on my October MOST ANTICIPATED list and my Fall Most Anticipated.

October MOST ANTICIPATED
November Most Anticipated
Fall Most Anticipated

When the picks are announced and you find you have space in your box still, make sure to also check reviews of all past Aardvark Books that I’ve read HERE or check out my list of all the 2023 picks I read HERE, because who couldn’t use even more books!

Keep in mind that these are simply predictions and books I hope get chosen. I could get these completely wrong, but the anticipation and guessing is part of the fun right?!

November Predictions

November has a LOT of books that feel very Aardvark to me, but Clear Water by Gabrielle Lucille Fuentes is probably one of my strongest predictions. It’s atmospheric, literary, strange, and a little haunting, all things Aardvark seems to love. I’m also watching Until the Last Light Goes Out by Courtney Gould, which has an abandoned Florida Keys resort, a decades-old tragedy, and survivors who refuse to talk about what actually happened. There Used to Be People Here by Kennedy Cole gives us another darker option, blending a murder investigation with horror, paranormal elements, and sci-fi, while Revenge Plot by Stephanie Wrobel brings a psychological thriller set in the publishing world. I could VERY easily see at least one or two of these making the box.

Then we have the slightly weirder picks, which is where Aardvark tends to get fun. Swipe Bite by Alexandra Vasti is a paranormal rom-com/mystery involving a vampire dating app, corporate sabotage, and vampires literally eating their dates. This feels just weird and fun enough to work plus I feel like there have been a resurgence of vampire type stories lately. All the Beastly Things by Eilish Quin is dystopian, gothic, queer, religious, speculative, and generally difficult to put neatly into one genre… aka extremely Aardvark. Cherry by Rose Wilding is another one I’m watching closely; it brings a darker literary/crime option to the mix and feels like the kind of book that could quietly show up in an Aardvark box and suddenly be everywhere.

Finally, The Squatters by Saba Brelvi feels like my literary/contemporary prediction of the month, exploring motherhood, migration, privilege, identity, and two families whose lives collide. I’m keeping Exhumation by Nicholas Binge on my radar too, although with its December 1 U.S. release, I think there’s a very good chance I’m simply a month early on that prediction. Altogether, this would give us a pretty classic Aardvark mix: thriller, horror, speculative, literary fiction, romance, and at least a couple of books that make you go, “What even IS this?” Which is exactly why I love trying to predict their boxes.

I have copies of most of these, so as I start reading through these, I’ll be sure to share my reviews. I should also have some spoilers towards the middle of the month, so come back to check it out!
