April 2023 Most Anticipated

April is coming up fast, and it’s bringing some awesome books with it. I cannot contain my excitement for so many of the books listed below and it was a struggle to narrow my list down to my top 12. Of my top 12, I have copies of 9 and have read 4 of those so far. I’ll link my reviews below, but just know April is going to leave you with an overflowing TBR!

In the Lives of Puppets, The Soulmate, The Only Survivors, Sisters of the Lost Nation, and Only the Beautiful are all sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. I’m hoping to get through all 5 of them in the next few weeks so be sure to check back for my reviews.

I’m still hoping the book fairies will grant me copies of Romantic Comedy, Homecoming, and Yours Truly. Even if I don’t receive a copy, all three are on my list to pick up as soon as they come out.

I have loved Emily Henry’s books in the past so I was excited to get a copy from Berkley last month. Her newest release Happy Place follows Wyn and Hallie and their friends as they try to navigate their futures. I had extremely high hopes for Happy Place, and maybe my expectations were too high, but I didn’t love it. Check out my review to see why.

What the Hex is the second in the Hex series. This was a quick witchy romance that is great for fans of The Kiss Curse, who want a bit more steam. It was fine, but I enjoyed the first book better.

Laura Griffin is an auto-buy author for me, so once again when Berkley sent me a copy last month, I was stoked! I love her romance suspense books and as a Texas girl, love that many of them are set in Texas. Deep Tide is my least favorite from The Texas Murder Files series, but still a fun read. Honestly, I’d read a grocery list if Griffin wrote it. Her books are always perfect for when I’m feeling slumpy.

Camp Zero is a dystopian debut that is being marketed for fans of Station Eleven. The writing is fantastic, but the story moves a bit slow. I have the same complaints for Camp Zero as I did for CJ Tudor’s recent post-apocalyptic release, I didn’t get enough answers! Which knocked this 4 stars down to a 3 for me.

As always, I’ve provided links for each of the books below. If something catches your attention be sure to click the image for more information and the synopsis. Not only do there seem to be a decent number of debuts I’m excited for in April hitting shelves, but there are a couple big name authors such as Sally Hepworth, Emily Henry, TJ Klune, Abby Jimenez, and Laura Griffin with new releases coming. So pull up those TBR’s and get ready to add all the books!
