Shockingly, I have advanced copies of every single one of this month’s books except the ones in the new Collections. I know, my flabber – is – gasted. I haven’t read them all yet but Sunk in Love and So Old, So Young were both enjoyable reads. Sunk in Love is great if you want a fast paced romance while So Old, So Young is more a character driven story spanning two decades. My vote is Sunk in Love if you want to finish the book happy. So Old, So Younge if you want to be left sorta sad and in the mood to reminisce about life.

Sunk in love review (coming soon)
I’m currently listening to Mary Kubica’s It’s Not Here and reading The Exes and really enjoying both so far. Stolen Midnights is the only pick I’m not interested in this month. I’m just having a hard time with YA books right now and would pass on this one. Otherwise, I’m very into all of this main and add-on picks .
From the Collections – I love the idea of both the 100 year look back book and a non-commercial pick. I think this really expands the range of BOTM and allows for more choices. Plus I like book boxes to expose me to new authors/stories. I’m actually going to put The Natural Way of Things in my box this month. I’m not always a big reader of ‘elevated prose’. I’m such a plot based reader and those tend to be a little pretentious and or ‘high brow’ for my taste. I have 3 toddlers and a full time job, so I’m just in a season of life where I need something a little ‘dumber’ to read. Ya feel me? However, I read the sample BOTM provided for The Natural Way of Things and I liked it, so giving it a go! I’ve also read All Quiet on the Western Front back in college and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would initially. I’m tempted to add it to my box for nostalgic purposes but I’m on the fence still since I don’t exactly need more books on my shelf at the moment.
Hopefully this helps you select your picks this month. Let me know if you’ve read any of these or what you picked either by commenting below or on my Instagram @speakingof.books.
