Fall reading season is coming fast and I’m so ready for it. Give me dark fantasies, twisty thrillers, holiday romances, and just the right amount of horror because nothing pairs better with rainy days, warm drinks, and early evenings than getting lost in a really good book.

As someone who lives in the Texas Hill Country and close to the Guadalupe, we are safe, but our hearts are heavy for our community and those impacted by the flooding. It’s a reminder of how fragile and connected we all are and how comforting it can be to escape into a good story, even just for a little while. If you’re able, please consider donating to local relief efforts, sending prayers, or simply holding space for those who are recovering.

This season’s list leans a little darker (what can I say, I’m a seasonal mood reader through and through). These are the books I’m most excited to cozy up with during naptime, quiet evenings, and slow Sunday football afternoons.

I’ve been lucky to receive ARCs of many of these titles (thank you, publishers!), and I’ll be diving into them soon so check back over the next couple months for reviews, reactions, and lots of bookish fall vibes.
