2024 Favorites

2024 is days from being over and I cannot believe how quickly this year went. I barely missed hitting my goal of 125 books, but 124 books is still impressive.

While I read quite a bit, I had more than a few months with no five star reads. It’s been a rough and busy year for me. We added twins to our household and being pregnant in the South Texas heat with twins is no joke. Add in a 2.5year old wildman and let’s just say I’ve spent most of 2024 being tired. I think this really impacted my reading this year as well. I had little patience for certain tropes and I DNF’ed more books than ever this year. I have limited time to myself nowadays and if a book doesn’t grab me within the first 2 chapters, I have to put it down or I’ll just fall asleep.

When you read as much as I do, it’s hard to be blown away by books, add in being exhausted and I’ve been extra picky about my 5-star ratings. These books though are my standouts. They held my attention even when I was running on caffeine and no sleep. Listed in no particular order each of these books is unique and holds a special place in my heart. Whether it was masterful writing, a beautiful story, or simply hit home for me, they are all books that I would highly recommend you read!

Most of these are 2024 releases however some are from my endlessly overflowing TBR pile and are from previous years. Again, books are listed in no particular order, and all have full reviews which I will link.
