Better late than never right! Less than a month until our Twins are here and honestly, we are just swamped with getting things done and ready for their arrival. Extremely late with predictions for August, but the bonus is that I have quite a few confirmed picks, so if you enjoy SPOILERS send me over a DM on Instagram or comment below.

There are so many interesting books coming out in July and quite a few repeat BOTM authors that have books coming out and that have just come out. As much as I love some of our repeat BOTM authors, I’m hoping for some out of the blue picks and debuts. You’ll also notice quite a few thriller and mystery predictions with almost all of them being repeat authors but honestly all I care about is seeing The God of the Woods and Lula Dean as picks! Sorry not sorry. You’ll also see quite a few fiction picks which all sound great for various reasons. I had a hard time narrowing my picks down, so you’ll have to settle with lots of fiction predictions this time around.

Mysteries & Thrillers

A few repeat authors makes the rounds this month in mysteries and thrillers. I had high hopes for Will Dean’s The Chamber, but it just didn’t deliver for me. I’d honestly like to see a debut author here as the main pick, but only time will tell.

Historical Fiction

Silvia Moreno-Garcia is a repeat BOTM author, and while I placed her book in Historical Fiction, her works can usual also fit the criteria for Gothic or Fantasy. Sara Goodman Confino also has a new book coming out and while everyone raved about her first book Don’t Forget to Write, it was a decent read for me but nothing outstanding. Her newest book Behind Every Good Man though, I absolutely loved and I’d love to see it pop up as a BOTM pick. But it is set to be a part of Kindle Unlimited so I don’t think it’s likely. Either way

BEHIND EVERY GOOD MAN REVIEW

Science Fiction & Fantasy

I’m a big mythology fan and a big Jennifer Saint fan, so I was stoked to get an audio copy of Hera. I’ve just started listening to it, but I’m already enjoying it. I’m anxious to see how Hum plays out as well, as it sounds right up my alley.

Contemporary & Literary Fiction

The Wedding People! What I wouldn’t give to see this as a pick. It was everything and nothing like I expected, and I loved it. Sorry to all the other contemporary and literary fiction books out there but it’s the only one I really care about at the moment.
