So excited to dive back into The Booking Agents series and see what Leda, Niki, and Detective Grady are up to now. I flew through Grave Reservations last year and was stoked to get an ARC from Atria for book 2 in the series.
When Detective Grady’s dog goes missing in Mount Rainier National Park, him and his daughter do everything to find him. Luckily, they find the dog, unluckily said dog has stumbled upon a man’s leg. This discovery throws Detective Grady headfirst into investigating and finding the owner of the missing leg. At the same time Leda’s newest client is searching for his lost sister. When Leda’s missing women and Grady’s ‘Mr. Leg’ are determined to be connected, they’ll need their collective skills to solve both cases.
I really love this series. It’s the perfect cozy mystery in my opinion. Even though the plot is a little unrealistic, it’s a charming read and doesn’t dive push a romance on us! Our main character, Leda is a quirky travel agent physic and does karaoke, what isn’t to love?! Her best friend, Niki, is a delight with plenty of comedy. Add in the more serious and level-headed Grady, and you’ve got a perfectly balanced cast of characters who all shine in their own way.
I will say that I enjoyed the first book more than its sequel. The storyline in Grave Reservations pulled me in more and I found it funnier. I also felt that we got more from Leda’s psychic abilities more in the first book and would have liked to see it showcased more in Flight Risk. Overall, I flew through this story and found it enjoyable.
If you are looking for a fun mystery series with likable characters than The Book Agents is perfect for you. Both books have been quick and easy reads and I can’t wait for the next installment.
Flight Risk comes out November 15, 2022! Huge thank you to Atria Books for my advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion. If you liked this review, please let me know either by commenting below or by visiting my instagram @speakingof.books.
