Summer has officially started, and ya’ll is it hot in Texas. We’ve had way too many 100+ days so far and July has not even started! The only thing this hot weather makes me want to do is sit in the pool with a cold drink and a fast paced book! Shocking, right?

During the hotter months I find I can’t concentrate on heavy or deep books much, so you’ll generally find me reading page turning thrillers, fantasy, and tons of romantic comedies until the heat dies down. With that said, my Most Anticipated are really favoring these 3 genres as of now.

I have quite a few advanced copies of the books below .Of the five I’ve read so far, only 1 was a 5 star read but 3 of them were 4 star reads.

Acts of Violet I listened to on audio and if you’re looking for a podcast based story, this one is for you. I enjoyed it but it did get a little long and the ending was a bit lackluster.

Ruth Ware’s newest book The IT Girl was okay. The mystery was there but it dragged on and was really just fine, in my opinon.

I have a soft spot in my heart for Katherine Center, and her newest book The Bodyguard is the cutest rom-com! I hope it’s made into a movie soon. It’s not as deep as some of her other books, but it’s a book that left me with warm fuzzies.

Things We Do in the Dark, is not Hillier’s darkest book but still excellent and has her trademark grittiness.

In Her Boots was a fast read. The romance didn’t feel fully flushed out to me but it was a great story of friendship and mother/daughter relationships.
