The last Tuesday of June and honestly I cannot believe how fast the year has gone by. Six whole months have flown by and now we’re just about in the second half of the year! Here’s to hoping that the only new things coming in July are awesome book releases and no more crazy 2020 shenanigans.
Anyway, this week is a HUGE week for new releases. There are so many books that I’m excited to read and even a few of these I was lucky to get some advanced copies of. For those I’ve read already I make sure to link my full review to help you decide if it’s for you!
Also I’ve decided to septate books that I have received as gifts from publishers/authors that I have not read yet, from the books that I want to buy and are in my Wishlist! Advanced Readers Copies (ARCs) are gifted books while Wishlist are books I would like but have yet to receive or purchase myself.Â
Mexican Gothic is Silvia Moreno-Garcia’s second release in the last two years. I loved her Gods of Jade and Shadow last year and Mexican Gothic was one of my most anticipated releases for this month. Unfortunately, I’ve decided Gothic books are not my cup of tea. I really loved the Mexican culture and the main character but this wasn’t my favorite book. See my full review HERE! Thanks to DelRey for my copy.
Riley Sager is one of my favorite Thriller authors and he 4th release in the same number of years is out today. Home Before Dark was good but had a lot of similarities to a Haunting of Hill House. It wasn’t my favorite of his but it’s still a solid read. See my full review HERE! Thanks to Dutton books for my copy.

Thanks to Harper for my copy of The Empire of Gold
Thank you to Harper Paperbacks for my copy of Dark August!
