Speaking of...Sadie Sunday! . Real talk. As much as Nik and I have enjoyed celebrating our marriage & having the weekend to ourselves, we are majorly missing our Sadie Lady. Its amazing how quickly an animal can become apart of your family & routine. We’ve officially had Sadie for 3 months & she’s now 5 months old! She can sit, shake, & lay down. She loves to snuggle but one of her favorite activities is laying down on my books while I read. If I don’t meet my 2019 reading goal you can blame Sadie. Y’all I get married today! I’m so excited and nervous and happy! In anticipation of today I read The Gown this week and I loved it!! Told through 3 different perspectives and two time periods, The Gown is a story of two women who helped to create the gorgeous dress that Queen Elizabeth wore to her wedding. This is a beautifully told historical fiction book that focuses less on a major world event (World War II) and more on how it impacted the lives of survivors. It’s also a book that celebrates creativity & art. As a fashion design major myself, though I do nothing professionally with that, I really appreciated the added details around the embroidery and gown making process. I’ll have a full review up next week, when I have time to sit down and write it. In the meantime all my historical fiction lovers, I’m looking at you #bookstahistfics go read this! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ . Happy book birthday to this gem! Huge thank you to @harperperennial for my copy! I was already familiar with @charlesdsoule writing because I read his book The Oracle Year, which was a @bookofthemonth pick last year, so I was pumped when this book showed up in my mailbox a few weeks ago! And it did not disappoint. . This book dives deep into the questions of identity and ethics! I mean if you could jump into someone else’s body and do whatever you want, what would you decide to do??? Murder? Steal? This book brings up a lot of those thoughts and the writing keeps you majorly engaged! A solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me! For a full review head over to my blog, link in bio! .
