November is the unofficially non-fiction month of the year. Maybe non-fiction November is official, I’m not sure, but it is the month I tend to focus on reading at least one non-fiction book, so I’m surprised we didn’t get a non-fiction this month, even though we did get Told You So by Mayci Neeley last month. With that said though, I do actually like this month’s picks and most if not all of the picks are on my Most Anticipated Lists. Of this month’s picks I do have copies of all of them and have read/am reading some; be sure to come back soon for even more reviews.
If you are still looking for something to read, be sure to check out some of my Most Anticipated New Releases lists. If you’re looking for add-ons to put into your boxes, be sure to check out my BOTM add-on recommendations, which I update every couple of months.

I’m actually skipping this month’s box, which feels both responsible and slightly tragic. I already have copies of all the main picks, and while I haven’t made it through them all yet, I did already read and review An Academic Affair (which I absolutely loved — such a fun, smart rom-com).
The Academic Affair Review
Right now, I’m in the middle of Lightbreakers and listening to The Everlasting, and while I don’t have a firm opinion just yet, I’m enjoying both so far. Lightbreakers definitely leans more literary in tone than I expected — the writing is elegant and layered, with a depth that feels more like a quiet, emotional character study than a traditional fantasy.
As for the rest of the lineup, Violet Thistlewaite Is Not a Villain Anymore and Cursed Daughters both sound like the perfect fall reads with morally gray women, generational themes, and a touch of magic and mischief. Her One Regret, Where He Left Me, and 59 Minutes round out the month with a bit of thrilling mystery. Again, I was happy with this month’s selection but would have loved a Non-fiction pick.
