May 2025 | BOTM Predictions

Welp, I sat down to put my predictions together last week and ended up never finishing them; but that is life with a toddler. Anyway, I don’t have any spoilers at this moment but DM me later on this month and I’m always happy to share once I know.

May in general has a massive number of new releases coming out that are going to be ‘Must Reads’ for me. I’m currently reading a few of these and will hopefully have a few more reviews up in the next week or so. There are also quite a few repeat BOTM authors that I wouldn’t mind seeing pop up as picks again!

Whether or not my predictions are actually picks, only time will tell. Even if they are not, all or most of these are on my April Most Anticipated New Releases, May Most Anticipated New Releases, and my Spring 2025 Most Anticipated List.

When the picks are announced and you find you have space in your box still, make sure to also check out my most recent version of BOTM Add-On recommendations HERE, because who couldn’t use even more books!

Keep in mind that these are simply predictions and books I hope get chosen. I could get these completely wrong, but the anticipation and guessing are part of the fun right?!

Mysteries & Thrillers

Ah, the Thriller and Mystery genre, always my hardest group to narrow down. There are a bunch of repeat authors I think we could see show up in this category. I’d be super happy with any of them honestly!

Historical Fiction

The Amalfi Curse could also fall under the Fantasy genre, but I’d love to see either of these being picked for Historical Fiction in May. I have copies of both as well, so hopefully to get reviews up soon!

Romance

Alright, I love Katherine Center. She’s my favorite so I always am hopefully to see her as a pick for Book of the Month!

Literary & Contemporary Fiction

All of these options are so different and I want to read alll of them! I’ve loved Kevin Wilson’s books, and while Run for the Hills wasn’t my favorite, it fits right into BOTM’s vibes.

Science Fiction & Fantasy

A Curse Carved in Bone I CANNOT WAIT for the second book in this series. I haven’t been able to get an ARC but if this ends up being offered by BOTM, I am 100% grabbing it!
