December 2024 Book of the Month

The final books of the year have dropped from Book of the Month, and though I’m late getting my write up out, it’s better late than never! Even though I like this month’s picks, I had a hard time deciding on which ones to add to my box. In part because I have copies of half of the books and the other half weren’t really on my radar. So, I’ve read two of this month’s picks already and am actually reading another one of them now as well. That didn’t leave me with a ton of choices to choose from, but I still ended up shipping a box this month!

I’m pleasantly surprised with how many holiday books we get to choose from this year! I know some folks don’t enjoy holiday reads, but I adore them. I’ve already read the one holiday book I had and listening to The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year was the perfect book to put my holiday decor up with. If you’re looking for a festive romance, with a locked room mystery – you’ll love this book!

The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year Review

I probably don’t have to tell anyone that Alice Feeny puts together a great thriller, but her upcoming release Beautiful Ugly delivers. With plenty of twists and an atmospheric setting, I definitely recommend it for my thriller lovers.

Definitely Better Now and Rental House are both books I have copies of and have on my TBR. I’m really looking forward to both of them and have heard great things about them so far.

I enjoy dark humor and if you do too than I Might Be in Trouble is for you. It’s getting quite a few five star reviews, and while I didn’t add it to my box, I’ve put a hold in at my library for it. I also skipped Most Wonderful and A Home for the Holidays. While I love holiday books, I do generally just get them from the library. A Home for the Holidays is a repeat BOTM author. I only gave Taylor Hahn’s book The Lifestyle three stars and so I passed on BOTM’s offering of her sophomore book.

I decided to add just a single book to my box, and that was Thirteenth Child which is the ‘Yearly Look-Back’ pick. It’s a YA story and at over 400+ it is a longer read. I’ve enjoyed Erin A. Craig’s books in the past so willing to dive into this YA fantasy/horror mix.

That’s what’s in my box this month! Did we pick any of the same books this month? Let me know in the comments below or over on my Instagram HERE.
