November 2024 Book of the Month

I cannot believe we only have 2- months left in the year. We’ve been extremely busy with our newborn twins and a toddler, so I’m glad we’re getting to the slow publishing months.

November is the unofficially non-fiction month of the year. Maybe non-fiction November is official, I’m not sure, but it is the month I tend to focus on reading at least one non-fiction book, so I’m glad to see we at least have a non-fiction pick. I am surprised to not see a traditional thriller or mystery this month, but November and December do tend to have less new releases overall, which could certainly be impacting that choice.

Of this month’s picks I have copies of three and have read only one. I most likely won’t be much help this month if you’re looking to narrow your box down this month but I’ll share my opinions anyway.

If you are still looking for something to read, be sure to check out some of my Most Anticipated New Releases lists. If you’re looking for add-ons to put into your boxes, be sure to check out my BOTM add-on recommendations, which I update every couple of months.

My Box

I’m skipping this month. I’m honestly not thrilled with this month’s picks and everything I want I have a copy of already. I do want to read Dinner for Vampires but the audio is available through Everand and so I plan to listen to it in November. Is She Really Going Out With Him? is the only other book I would have added on but since I didn’t have a main pick, I’m going to skip it this month.

I already have a copy of P.S. I Love You, The Teller of Small Fortunes, and Pictures of You. I read and enjoyed The Teller of Small Fortunes already and should have a review up soon – maybe. Of our main picks, that one or Dinner for Vampires as my pick as I’m hearing the best things about both.

I didn’t choose Dirty Diana. Even though I love a good debut, it had some comparisons to Vladamir and since I didn’t enjoy that one at all, I decided to steer clear of it. I’m also a huge Fantasy reader, so a fantasy debut I’m here for. But I skipped The Road of Bones since it’s the first in a series and the second book is already available. It is getting excellent ratings though so I WILL be picking it up, just not from BOTM.

Where the Library Hides and The Courting of Bristol Keats are fantasy that I’d like to read eventually but just not high on my priority list right now.
