March 2024 Book of the Month

It’s a big month for Book of the Month with 5 picks and lots of new add-on options. While I’m stoked about this, my TBR is not. Of the 10 picks this month, I have copies of four of them and most of the rest were on my TBR. We have 4 debuts, 3 repeat authors, 2 fantasy, a horror story, and quite a few contemporary fiction picks. Needless to say, I’m fairly happy with the picks this month.

Reminder that if none of these are speaking to you this month be sure to check out some of my Most Anticipated New Releases lists. If you’re looking for add-ons to put into your boxes, be sure to check out my BOTM add-on recommendations, which I update every couple of months.

My Picks

Of the 12 new books available this month, I have copies of all but 4 of them. I have already read and loved Kill for Me, Kill for You, Listen for the Lie, and A Fate Inked in Blood. I’m almost done with Murder Road and have started Bye, Baby. Bye, Baby is the only book out of these five that I’m unsure of. As a pregnant mom of a toddler the baby kidnapping is got a little under my skin, so I actually stopped listening to the audiobook for a bit. I’m picking it back up but if you’re sensitive to things happening to babies in books, maybe steer clear.

I have and am loving the other four! Murder Road might be one of my favorite Simone St. James books so far. With that said, while I enjoyed both Kill for Me, Kill for You and Listen for the Lie, I liked Kill for Me, Kill for You just a smidge more. Listen for the Lie though has a podcast format for part of the story and is excellent to listen to on audio. Highly recommend either!

Fate Inked in Blood is a fabulous start to a Nordic inspired fantasy series. I loved it. It’s an open door romantasy and have a spicy level of 3, IMO. It’s labeled as ‘New Adult’ and definitely is aimed toward a younger audience with some YA vibes but is also NOT a YA fantasy. Definitely recommend.

I also have copies of Happily Never After, The Other Valley, and The Great Divide. I’m 99% positive I’ll love Happily Never After, since I adore Lynn Painter’s books, they always make me smile. I’ve also already started The Other Valley but the jury is still out on how I feel about it. I will note it doesn’t have Quotations so if that bothers you, skip this book.

Of our remaining options I opted to grab Grief is for People and made Annie Bot my main pick. I’ve heard nothing but good things about both and I am trying to read more non-fiction. I picked Abby Jimenez’ Yours Truly as my FREE BOTY BOOK. I love Abby Jimenez and I’m actually planning to use it as a gift, since I have a copy already. Lastly, I picked up a copy of The Women since I had some extra credits that I’m going to give to my mom. I adored The Women and I really think she’ll enjoy the story since she’s a retired Colonel.

That’s what’s in my box this month! Did we pick any of the same books this month? Let me know in the comments below, over on my Instagram HERE, or on my TikTok HERE.
