My Thoughts

I had really high hopes for this little book about chefs but ultimately it didn’t deliver for me. I thought the story line had lots of potentially but the characters relationships to me felt choppy and abrupt. And really in a rom-com, the character relationship is the main focus of the book. There were also some events and moments in the book that were just plan unbelievable or maybe cringe worthy. I’m not sure but Dax rubbed the wrong way and his ‘charming allure’ came off as more creeper to me.

I did really enjoy that Santos included recipes in the book though, and I’m actually excited to try one or two of those. If you’re an avid romance or rom-com reader than you might like this book. I’m not so it’s hard for me to get back one that doesn’t feel fully flushed out.
