The first books of 2026 are here and it’s a great drop this month. With six new main picks this month and five more new/recent add-ons, I honestly think there is something for everyone. I’ve read 1.5 so far of our picks and have loved and am loving them. and have loved two of those. Narrowing down my own box was super hard this month, and while I’ve been skipping recently, I treated myself to a full box, because nothing says ‘New Year, New Me’ then adding some new books to my already over flowing shelves.

I had the hardest time narrowing down my picks for the month, but I ended up picking Anatomy of an Alibi, Rings of Fate, and Crux. Lost Lambs was my runner up pick and I just did a coin toss to decide between that and Crux. Both peaked my interest but neither had been on my radar. I’m a big fan of Melissa De La Cruz and a sucker for pretty edges. I don’t love that that costs extra but I’ve been in the mood for a new fantasy so I decided to give it a whirl. I’ve been wanting to get a copy of Ashley Elston’s upcoming release Anatomy of an Alibi but didn’t quite manage to snag one, and since I had some credits treated myself to this thriller that is getting rave reviews.
I already have copies of The Future Saints, Skylark, The Odds of You, and The First Time I Saw Him. I adored The Future Saints and while it wasn’t a five star read, it almost was. I’m almost done with Skylark and loving it. Personally Paula McLain can do no wrong in my eyes. Both The Odds of You and The First Time I Saw Him are on my immediate TBR but both, especially The Odds of You are already getting lots of rave reviews. Be sure to come back soon for my reviews of these.

I passed on Most Eligible. While it sounds cute and up my alley, it’ll be a library read for me. I also passed on My Husband’s Wife. I haven’t been loving Alice Feeney’s books lately and I’m currently taking a break from her books. However, I’ve seen some reviews say that this one is her best yet, so I might wait to hear some other reviews from some of my BOTM groups and then add it next month.
And that’s what I picked this month.
