The Love of My After Life

When Delphie dies choking on a microwaveable burger, she finds herself in Evermore, the afterlife waiting room, wearing her nightie and locked in an instantly electric conversation with the most charming man she’s ever seen. Just as she’s convinced fate has handed her a soulmate, a cosmic mix-up sends him hurtling back to Earth. Desperate not to lose her one chance at love, Delphie makes a deal: she’ll be sent back to Earth too, but she has just 10 days to find him and get a kiss or it’s back to Evermore, for good.

I loved this book. It was a blast to read and I had so much fun with it last year! It’s the kind of rom-com that lifts your spirits and wraps you in warm, fuzzy feelings, all while tossing in a bit of magical realism for good measure.

Delphie, our quirky, lovable loner of a main character, has never had a boyfriend or even a kiss and lives a quiet, isolated life. But when she’s suddenly given a second shot at living, it comes with one heck of a deadline. No last name, no idea how to find this mysterious man, and the city sprawling before her? Chaos. Hilarious, heartwarming chaos.

I laughed out loud at Delphie’s awkward and determined antics to find Jonah. She’s delightfully weird, and you can’t help but root for her. I adored her character and loved watching her come alive for the first time.

This one’s for fans of heartfelt rom-coms with quirky heroines. People who think the universe is hilarious and believe in second chances. Highly recommend this fun book!
