Say You’ll Remember Me

Abby Jimenez delivers another emotionally resonant love story with heart, humor, and depth. Following Samantha and Xavier, two people carrying heavy burdens from the past while trying to navigate an unexpected but powerful connection. As life’s challenges including illness, family dynamics, and career ambitions, collide with their growing relationship, they must decide what love truly means when reality doesn’t play fair.

What stood out most to me was how Say You’ll Remember Me didn’t isolate the romance from the rest of life. It acknowledged, beautifully and at times painfully, how relationships are shaped by everything around them. The story isn’t a fairytale vacuum; it’s grounded in the kind of everyday mess that makes love feel all the more rewarding.

The characters are just as exceptional. Xavier stole my heart completely. His love for animals, his emotional intelligence, his calm presence, ah I just adored him. He always seemed to show up in exactly the way you’d hope someone would. Samantha was more unpredictable and rawer, and that made her incredibly relatable. She’s working through things, like so many of us are, and her journey was powerful to witness, and she truly just loves ‘her people’ without question.

I’ve seen a few comments about excessive pop culture references, but honestly, I don’t care. They added charm, character, and plenty of relatability. When I pick up an Abby Jimenez book, I’m just looking for something to make me smile, and this book did that.

Listening to this audiobook that Libro.fm gifted me was pure heaven. The narration brought the characters to life in such an intimate way, and I felt deeply connected to their story. I wasn’t even annoyed at dishes left in the sink, if I could keep listening to my audiobook.

I absolutely adored this book. My heart feels full and happy, and I already can’t wait for the next in the series. Abby Jimenez has once again crafted a love story that’s tender, layered, and refreshingly real. All in all, Abby Jimenez can do no wrong in my book. This story was everything I needed it to be and more.

Note: this book does involve a subplot about dementia and the loss of memory, which is handled with sensitivity but can be emotionally triggering.
