Even though Aardvark is great about giving us hints each month so we know what the picks will be before they ‘go live’, I thought it would be fun to start putting together my own predictions based on my reading and experience with Aardvark. This will be my third month doing predictions for Aardvark and if you have recommendations on format or what you’d like to see, feel free to contact me!
Unlike some other book clubs, I feel that Aardvark is a bit more of a wildcard when it comes to their picks. I don’t feel that they ever have a set formula for the genres they pick, but I have noticed the books all tend to have similar ‘vibes’ or similar themes and tones. While they’re also featured some well-known authors, I find that their books tend to be more on the edgy or experimental side and showcase more less known authors. Because of this, I’ve listed my predictions all together instead of breaking them out by genre.
I do have a confirmed spoiler, if you’re interested in finding out what it is, DM me on Instagram @speakingof.books.
Whether or not these are actually picks, only time will tell. Even if they are not, all or most of these are on my June Most Anticipated New Release list and my Spring 2024 Most Anticipated.

MAY 2024 MOST ANTICIPATED
Summer 2024 MOST ANTICIPATED
When the picks are announced and you find you have space in your box still, make sure to also check reviews of all past Aardvark Books that I’ve read HERE or check out my list of all the 2023 picks I read HERE, because who couldn’t use even more books!
Keep in mind that these are simply predictions and books I hope get chosen. I could get these completely wrong, but the anticipation and guessing is part of the fun right?!
Predictions
A ton of options for Aardvark this month and don’t they all just have the best covers? I couldn’t really narrow my list down and since these are just predictions, I figured I’d just throw them all out there!
Both How to Age Disgracefully and We Used to Live Here are June releases that I enjoyed and definitely gave me Aardvark vibes. I have reviews for both, so check those out!

While Ali Hazelwood’s books are normally picks for another book club, I’ve heard some rumors that Aardvark has picked up her latest book, Not in Love, which is why I’ve added it to my predictions. With a setting in Austin, how could I not love reading it!
Not in love Review
Main character is from a previous Aardvark author, so we have a good chance of seeing The Main Character as a pick. It’s giving Agatha Christie vibes currently and I’ll have a review up when I finish it. Otherwise, all my other predictions are a bit more outlandish and quirkier than many traditional book clubs pick up. I have a few copies of these as well so be sure to sign up to receive updates for when I upload my reviews!
Do you think any of these will be picks? Just a few days left before the Aardvark team starts putting out hints for their picks!
I hope you found a book that you are truly excited about in this post.
