October is officially here, which means cozy nights, warm drinks, and a stack of brand-new books to match the season. This month’s lineup is packed with everything from atmospheric thrillers to heart-melting romances, perfect for curling up with as the weather cools down. Whether you’re looking for a spooky read to get into the Halloween spirit or a cozy escape filled with small-town charm, October’s releases are delivering big.
As I always do in my ‘Most Anticipated’ write ups, I’m sharing a few that I’m most excited for first. I then separate out new releases by their release date. I don’t go into too much detail on each of the books being released, because we’d be here forever, but you can always click on the image of the book to get more info.
The below are my top must reads coming out in October! Of the twelve, I have copies of all but 1 and have already read five so far. Reviews will be coming as soon as I can get caught up, so be sure to sign up to be alerted when new posts are available.
October is absolutely stacked with new releases, but these 12 are the ones at the very top of my list. From gothic chills in The Women of Wild Hill and The Last Witch to the romantic tension of Ali Hazelwood’s Mate and Stephanie Garber’s Alchemy of Secrets, there’s something here for every kind of reader. I’m especially intrigued by the quirky fun of Colin Gets Promoted and Dooms the World, the haunting atmosphere of Bog Queen, and the heartfelt drama of Keep This For Me. Add in The Everlasting, Witches of Dubious Origin, Wreck, Slayers of Old, and The Second Chance Cinema, and October is shaping up to be an incredible reading month filled with magic, mystery, and unforgettable stories.
I’ve read a few of these already and have copies of all except Mate by Ali Hazelwood. While I love Kirsten Miller, The Women of Wild Hill wasn’t my favorite. Make sure to check out my review below and come back for more reviews as I read through my top 12!
