June 2025 Book of the Month Picks are here and it’s a solid lineup with a mix of thrillers, literary fiction, and summer drama! With school out and the start of summer happening this month, it’s officially prime reading season! Whether you’re lounging poolside, soaking up the sun on your patio, or (like me) hiding indoors with iced coffee and allergy meds, now’s the perfect time to stack your summer TBR.
Book of the Month just dropped their June picks, and this lineup is bringing the heat. I’ve read one of this month’s selections already (more on that soon ), and I can say it’s the kind of book you’ll want to toss in your beach bag and finish in a single sun-drenched sitting.
Reminder: if none of this month’s picks are calling your name, don’t forget to scroll through my Most Anticipated New Releases for more inspo. And if you’re looking to bulk up your box, check out my regularly updated BOTM add-on recommendations, you might just discover a new favorite tucked in there.
June’s here. The books are calling. Let’s do this.

My Picks
While I’m not grabbing a box this month, I still thought it was a decent line up.I’ve got Ghostwriter, King of Ashes, Bury Our Bones, What Kind of Paradise, and The Other Side of Night already, so I’m skipping my box this month. If you’re looking for a fast-paced, unputdownable summer read grab The Ghostwriter. I devoured it. It’s smart, sharp, and such a unique story—definitely one of my faves so far this year!
The Ghostwriter REview
I cannot wait to get into King of Ashes. S.A. Cosby is, in my opinion, a master storyteller. His work is gritty, layered, and always delivers a punch. I’m a little intrigued by The Summer We Ran. It looks like an emotional, coming-of-age summer story, but I haven’t seen a ton of buzz yet, so I’ll probably put in a library hold and keep my expectations chill.
Next to Heaven by James Frey definitely raised my eyebrows. The summary pulled me in right away, but apparently there’s some controversy around the author and this release. I don’t know all the details yet, but I’ll be doing a little digging before deciding if I want to read it. Honestly, I have plenty of other books to keep me busy in the meantime.
That’s what’s in my box this month! Did we pick any of the same books this month? Let me know in the comments below, over on my Instagram HERE, or on my TikTok HERE.
